Errol Smith's comment pointed me in the direction of Poynter's new podcasts which you can find here.

I like the podcasts even if there is a little too much self promotion from his contributors. These are a valuable tool for self publishers and for start up publishers. What is truly excellent is that he offers the chance for regular web users to get on the podcasts making a real conversation possible.

It's easy to see that over time these types of podcasts and radio efforts will be huge parts of most book promotions.
