That was a very good post over on Plagiarism Today; thanks for linking to it. Another problem I’ve noticed on eBay is that people routinely sell copyrighted photos that they don’t own the rights to. They simply find the photos (usually of sporting events, athletes, or celebs), save the file to their computers, hold an auction, and then print out copies as needed.
Obviously the scammers aren’t going to stop on their own. eBay needs to step up and do a better job of cracking down on these illegal auctions.

I’d like to see ebay and others step up to the mark. It is in their long term interest too. I often wonder how they can allow some obvious scams to continue whiel others are stamped out so quickly. I guess it can be hard to determine when copyright ha sbeen infringed in the way described on Plagiarism Today!
